Dental Veneers

  • Dental Veneers

Veneers are an excellent way to reshape and redesign a single tooth or your entire mouth. Veneers are a very thin ceramic, porcelain, or resin shell that covers your existing tooth structure. In placing these new veneers on your teeth, you are able to fix the look of problems such as damaged teeth, staining, spaces, chipped teeth, misaligned teeth, and many other issues.

Are Veneers a permenant fix? Can Veneers break?

Veneers are generally sturdy and may last a long time with proper care. Depending on the stress (excessive grinding/clenching) that the veneers undergo they may need cosmetic repair or full replacement. It's up to the wearer to protect them in order to increase their lifespan.

Veneers can chip and crack like natural teeth, so biting down on hard foods or using your teeth as tools can result in a damaged surface. Veneers are capable of staining as well and recommend against repeated exposure to coffee, wine or tea.

How to care for your veneers

While veneers can last a long time, they do sometimes become loose or fall out and you can get cavities underneath veneers. The most important step you can take to ensure the longevity of your veneers is to practice good oral hygiene by brushing twice a day, flossing everyday and using mouthwashes.
